RG8 Coaxial Cable

Characteristics:

RG8 coaxial cables are used in networking and telecommunications applications. They are designed to transmit radio frequency (RF) signals over long distances with minimal signal loss. RG8 cables are commonly used for base station antennas, long-distance communication links, and other applications where low loss and high performance are required.

RG8 Coaxial Cable

The RG-8/U is a 50-ohm double-shielded coaxial cable with an outer diameter of 0.405 inches and a maximum working voltage of 4000 Vrms. It has a 7-strand copper inner conductor (which carries the electrical signal), surrounded by an insulating layer typically made of solid low-density polyethylene (PE).

The cable consists of an insulating layer surrounded by a protective layer made of copper braid, a combination of bonded aluminum foil and copper braid. The shields form an outer conductor and also provide protection against electromagnetic interference. Finally, the structure is covered with an outermost layer called a jacket, made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The jacket protects the cable core from mechanical, moisture, and chemical damage.
